According to the World Bank, in 1969, the top 3 African countries with high net exports of goods and services in current US$ (i.e. total exports of goods and services in current US$ minus total imports of goods and services in current US$) are: Ivory Coast (131.94M US$), Tunisia (122.10M US$), and South Africa (89.60M US$).

Conversely, in 1969, the top 3 African countries with high net imports of goods and services in current US$ (i.e. total imports of goods and services in current US$ minus total exports of goods and services in current US$ ) are: Nigeria (267.96M US$), Egypt (200.97M US$), and Algeria (182.29M US$).

The World Bank defines exports of goods and services as "the value of all goods and other market services provided to the rest of the world" , and defines imports of goods and services as "the value of all goods and other market services received from the rest of the world".
