According to the World Bank, in 2009, the top 3 African countries with high net exports of goods and services in current US$ (i.e. total exports of goods and services in current US$ minus total imports of goods and services in current US$) are: Libya (11.46B US$), Equatorial Guinea (3.98B US$), and Nigeria (3.55B US$).

Conversely, in 2009, the top 3 African countries with high net imports of goods and services in current US$ (i.e. total imports of goods and services in current US$ minus total exports of goods and services in current US$ ) are: Egypt (12.56B US$), Morocco (11.06B US$), and Kenya (3.56B US$).

The World Bank defines exports of goods and services as "the value of all goods and other market services provided to the rest of the world" , and defines imports of goods and services as "the value of all goods and other market services received from the rest of the world".
