According to the World Bank, in 2019, the top 3 African countries with high net exports of goods and services in current US$ (i.e. total exports of goods and services in current US$ minus total imports of goods and services in current US$) are: Angola (12.88B US$), Gabon (4.97B US$), and Libya (3.38B US$).

Conversely, in 2019, the top 3 African countries with high net imports of goods and services in current US$ (i.e. total imports of goods and services in current US$ minus total exports of goods and services in current US$ ) are: Nigeria (25.01B US$), Egypt (24.97B US$), and Ethiopia (12.41B US$).

The World Bank defines exports of goods and services as "the value of all goods and other market services provided to the rest of the world" , and defines imports of goods and services as "the value of all goods and other market services received from the rest of the world".
