Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for Maryland was 9.16%. Among all Maryland cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Hagerstown city had the highest poverty rate (25.47%), followed by College Park city (25.32%), and Salisbury city (24.76%). On the other hand, the following 3 cities and places had the lowest poverty rate: Scaggsville CDP (0.66%), Westphalia CDP (1.35%), and Travilah CDP (1.65%).
