Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of Non-Hispanic White Alone households in South Dakota with household income of less than $40k was 27.81%. Among all South Dakota counties, Jackson County had the highest percentage of Non-Hispanic White Alone households with household income of less than $40k (47.42%), followed by Bennett County (41.35%), and Haakon County (41.19%).

On the other hand, the following 3 counties had low percentages of Non-Hispanic White Alone households with household income of less than $40k: Oglala Lakota County (0.00%), Lincoln County (15.50%), and Hanson County (19.74%).
