Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for Illinois was 11.84%. Among all Illinois counties, Alexander County had the highest poverty rate (24.53%), followed by Jackson County (23.84%), and Pope County (21.47%). On the other hand, the following 3 counties had the lowest poverty rate: Monroe County (3.22%), Kendall County (4.36%), and Piatt County (5.77%).
