Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for Iowa was 11.01%. Among all Iowa counties, Story County had the highest poverty rate (19.42%), followed by Appanoose County (19.36%), and Crawford County (18.06%). On the other hand, the following 3 counties had the lowest poverty rate: Lyon County (4.55%), Mitchell County (4.9%), and Grundy County (5.15%).
