Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for New Jersey was 9.76%. Among all New Jersey counties, Cumberland County had the highest poverty rate (15.67%), followed by Essex County (15.27%), and Passaic County (14.58%). On the other hand, the following 3 counties had the lowest poverty rate: Hunterdon County (3.72%), Morris County (5%), and Somerset County (5.11%).
