Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for South Dakota was 12.46%. Among all South Dakota counties, Todd County had the highest poverty rate (59.03%), followed by Oglala Lakota County (50.5%), and Mellette County (49.97%). On the other hand, the following 3 counties had the lowest poverty rate: Stanley County (4.14%), Lincoln County (4.71%), and Campbell County (5.32%).
