Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Average Household Income for the United States was $97,196. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average household income ($138,421), followed by New Jersey ($124,626), and Massachusetts ($123,174). On the other hand, the following 3 states had the lowest average household income: Mississippi ($68,636), West Virginia ($69,436), and Arkansas ($73,346).
