Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the number of employed US civilians (16 years and over) who were employed as Lawyers was 1,148,469 (i.e. 0.73% of all civilian employees). Among those employed as Lawyers, 62.01% were Males, and 37.99% were Females.
The median earnings for all Lawyers was $140,162, which was 62% higher than the median earnings for all US civilian employees. The median earnings of Female Lawyers was 28.34% less than that of their male counterparts.
