Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of households in North Dakota with household income of Less than $40K was 28.99%. Among all North Dakota cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Jamestown city had the highest percentage of households with household income of Less than $40K (41.66%), followed by Grand Forks city (38.53%), and Fargo city (33.23%).

On the other hand, the following 3 cities and places had low percentages of households with household income of Less than $40K: West Fargo city (17.50%), Mandan city (26.84%), and Bismarck city (26.91%).
