Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for New Mexico was 18.33%. Among all New Mexico cities and places with a population of at least 10K, Las Vegas city had the highest poverty rate (30.28%), followed by Chaparral CDP (29.17%), and Sunland Park city (29.1%). On the other hand, the following 3 cities and places had the lowest poverty rate: Los Alamos CDP (4.75%), Rio Rancho city (7.08%), and Los Lunas village (10.33%).
