Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for Mississippi was 19.38%. Among all Mississippi counties, Holmes County had the highest poverty rate (39.21%), followed by Coahoma County (37.54%), and Humphreys County (35.38%). On the other hand, the following 3 counties had the lowest poverty rate: DeSoto County (9.6%), Rankin County (9.61%), and Itawamba County (9.86%).
