Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of Alaska households that received Food Stamps or SNAP was 10.37% (i.e. 27,017 households). Percentagewise, among all Alaska counties, Kusilvak Census Area had the highest percentage of its households that received Food Stamps (53.55%), followed by Bethel Census Area (39.74%), and Northwest Arctic Borough (33.66%).

In numerical terms, Anchorage Municipality had the highest number of households that received Food Stamps or SNAP (9,236), followed by Matanuska-Susitna Borough (4,054), and Kenai Peninsula Borough (2,164).
