Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of Ohio households that received Food Stamps or SNAP was 12.36% (i.e. 587,542 households). Percentagewise, among all Ohio cities and places with a population of at least 10,000, East Cleveland city had the highest percentage of its households that received Food Stamps (45.93%), followed by Portsmouth city (36.47%), and Youngstown city (35.40%).

In numerical terms, Cleveland city had the highest number of households that received Food Stamps or SNAP (53,686), followed by Columbus city (48,284), and Toledo city (26,118).
