Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, 138,155 out of 1,632,151 Maricopa County, AZ households received Food Stamps or SNAP in the last 12 months (i.e. 8.47% of Maricopa County households).

By Race: As a percentage of the total number of households that received SNAP or Food Stamps, the White Alone racial group constituted 60.90%; the Two or More Races racial group constituted 11.71%, and the Black Alone racial group constituted 11.32%.

By Ethnicity: As a percentage of the total number of households that received Food Stamps or SNAP, the Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group constituted 38.82%, and the Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group constituted 41.58%.

Percentage of Each Racial Group's Households that Received SNAP: 6.77% of White Alone households received Food Stamps or SNAP; 13.13% of Two or More Races households received SNAP; and 17.60% of Black Alone households received SNAP.
