According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2009 Q2, the average weekly wage for Iowa was $686. Among all Iowa counties, Polk County had the highest average weekly wage ($823), followed by Linn County ($795), and Johnson County ($780).

On the other hand, Lyon County had the lowest average weekly wage ($504), followed by Monona County ($507), and Dickinson County ($510).
