According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2006 Q3, the average weekly wage for Michigan was $789. Among all Michigan counties, Oakland County had the highest average weekly wage ($929), followed by Washtenaw County ($913), and Wayne County ($901).

On the other hand, Keweenaw County had the lowest average weekly wage ($369), followed by Benzie County ($441), and Alcona County ($452).
