According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 Q1, the average weekly wage for Montana was $533. Among all Montana counties, Stillwater County had the highest average weekly wage ($720), followed by Fallon County ($658), and Sweet Grass County ($649).

On the other hand, Petroleum County had the lowest average weekly wage ($290), followed by Garfield County ($332), and Chouteau County ($348).
