According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2005 Q4, the average weekly wage for North Carolina was $718. Among all North Carolina counties, Durham County had the highest average weekly wage ($1.01K), followed by Mecklenburg County ($932), and Wake County ($826).

On the other hand, Washington County had the lowest average weekly wage ($442), followed by Bertie County ($458), and Alleghany County ($459).
