According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2003 Q2, the average weekly wage for South Dakota was $507. Among all South Dakota counties, Union County had the highest average weekly wage ($699), followed by Minnehaha County ($586), and Buffalo County ($549).

On the other hand, Jones County had the lowest average weekly wage ($317), followed by McPherson County ($326), and Campbell County ($331).
