According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2007 Q1, the average weekly wage for South Dakota was $601. Among all South Dakota counties, Union County had the highest average weekly wage ($722), followed by Minnehaha County ($705), and Lincoln County ($645).

On the other hand, Mellette County had the lowest average weekly wage ($377), followed by McPherson County ($378), and Campbell County ($383).
