According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2008 Q1, the average weekly wage for South Dakota was $632. Among all South Dakota counties, Union County had the highest average weekly wage ($741), followed by Minnehaha County ($736), and Lincoln County ($671).

On the other hand, Mellette County had the lowest average weekly wage ($388), followed by Lyman County ($410), and McPherson County ($414).
