According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2008 Q4, the average weekly wage for South Dakota was $663. Among all South Dakota counties, Union County had the highest average weekly wage ($812), followed by Deuel County ($776), and Turner County ($757).

On the other hand, Mellette County had the lowest average weekly wage ($428), followed by Jackson County ($431), and McPherson County ($453).
