According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2009 Q1, the average weekly wage for South Dakota was $630. Among all South Dakota counties, Minnehaha County had the highest average weekly wage ($720), followed by Union County ($711), and Lincoln County ($689).

On the other hand, Mellette County had the lowest average weekly wage ($416), followed by Jones County ($420), and Day County ($424).
