According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2009 Q4, the average weekly wage for South Dakota was $688. Among all South Dakota counties, Union County had the highest average weekly wage ($851), followed by Deuel County ($824), and Minnehaha County ($778).

On the other hand, Jones County had the lowest average weekly wage ($432), followed by Mellette County ($468), and Bennett County ($482).
