According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2003 Q1, the average weekly wage for Virginia was $738. Among all Virginia counties, Arlington County had the highest average weekly wage ($1.14K), followed by Fairfax County ($1.10K), and Surry County ($1.07K).

On the other hand, Highland County had the lowest average weekly wage ($358), followed by Mathews County ($375), and Westmoreland County ($387).
