According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2003 Q4, the average weekly wage for Virginia was $787. Among all Virginia counties, Surry County had the highest average weekly wage ($1.22K), followed by Arlington County ($1.20K), and Fairfax County ($1.16K).

On the other hand, Highland County had the lowest average weekly wage ($399), followed by Mathews County ($419), and Emporia city ($423).
