According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2003 Q1, the average weekly wage for West Virginia was $561. Among all West Virginia counties, Boone County had the highest average weekly wage ($740), followed by Marshall County ($731), and Pleasants County ($665).

On the other hand, Tucker County had the lowest average weekly wage ($358), followed by Wirt County ($380), and Summers County ($408).
