According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2003:

  1. Texas: 1,000
  2. Missouri: 700
  3. Pennsylvania: 400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2003:

  1. Alaska: -1,100
  2. Montana: -1,000
  3. New Jersey: -900
