According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2017:

  1. California: 13,900
  2. Illinois: 4,200
  3. Colorado: 4,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2017:

  1. Michigan: -10,700
  2. Arizona: -10,600
  3. Florida: -5,100
