According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Service-Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2011:
- Florida: 83,800
- North Carolina: 66,700
- Arizona: 54,600
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Service-Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2011:
- New York: -38,100
- New Jersey: -24,700
- Massachusetts: -17,200
