According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2007:

  1. California: 6,500
  2. Ohio: 5,800
  3. Massachusetts: 5,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2007:

  1. Kentucky: -800
  2. North Carolina: -700
  3. Idaho: -200
