According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Private industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. Maine: 11,300
  2. Oregon: 11,000
  3. Alaska: 10,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Private industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. California: -94,100
  2. Florida: -65,300
  3. Michigan: -45,300
