In April 2020, the following were the rankings of the top 10 Illinois counties based on the number of Federal Government employment they had for All Industries:

  1. Cook: 38,259
  2. St. Clair: 5,394
  3. Lake: 5,358
  4. Rock Island: 4,970
  5. DuPage: 4,718
  6. Sangamon: 1,754
  7. Williamson: 1,657
  8. Kane: 1,589
  9. Peoria: 1,485
  10. Vermilion: 1,346

The following were the rankings of the top 10 Illinois counties based on the number of Federal Government jobs added to All Industries in April 2020:

  1. Cook: 194
  2. DuPage: 66
  3. Lake: 41
  4. Rock Island: 24
  5. Tazewell: 18
  6. Madison: 11
  7. Carroll: 9
  8. Kendall: 9
  9. Will: 9
  10. Franklin: 6
