  2. St. Louis city: 10,201
  3. St. Louis: 5,795
  4. Pulaski: 3,403
  5. Boone: 2,643
  6. Greene: 2,110
  7. Clay: 1,431
  8. Johnson: 1,231
  9. Butler: 821
  10. St. Charles: 772

The following were the rankings of the top 10 Missouri counties based on the number of Federal Government jobs added to All Industries in August 2021:

  1. St. Louis city: 87
  2. St. Louis: 17
  3. Buchanan: 12
  4. Pettis: 9
  5. Butler: 7
  6. Webster: 7
  7. Saline: 6
  8. Holt: 5
  9. Newton: 5
  10. Christian: 4
