According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May, 2021, North Carolina added the highest number of jobs to the federal government general merchandise stores industry (27), followed by Alabama (21), and Florida (12).

On the other hand, Oklahoma added the least number of jobs (-62), followed by Virginia (-56), and Texas (-30).
