According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in September, 2021, South Dakota added the highest number of jobs to the local government heavy and civil engineering construction industry (2), followed by Mississippi (1), and Virginia (1).

On the other hand, Ohio added the least number of jobs (-293), followed by Massachusetts (-209), and Missouri (-148).
