According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in October, 2019, North Carolina added the highest number of jobs to the local government executive, legislative and general government industry (809), followed by Georgia (648), and South Carolina (537).

On the other hand, New Jersey added the least number of jobs (-5,314), followed by New York (-4,000), and Illinois (-3,451).
