According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in April, 2020, Missouri added the highest number of jobs to the private petroleum and coal products manufacturing industry (132), followed by Illinois (83), and Virginia (51).

On the other hand, California added the least number of jobs (-344), followed by Pennsylvania (-288), and Indiana (-188).
