According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in April, 2019, Rhode Island added the highest number of jobs to the private primary metal manufacturing industry (), followed by Iowa (123), and Ohio (102).

On the other hand, Indiana added the least number of jobs (-541), followed by Illinois (-324), and Michigan (-290).
