According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in August, 2020, California added the highest number of jobs to the private merchant wholesalers, nondurable goods industry (1,692), followed by New York (1,487), and Washington (658).

On the other hand, Iowa added the least number of jobs (-592), followed by Nebraska (-373), and Indiana (-133).
