According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in April, 2019, North Dakota added the highest number of jobs to the state government executive, legislative and general government industry (), followed by Louisiana (130), and North Carolina (128).

On the other hand, New Mexico added the least number of jobs (-361), followed by California (-237), and Georgia (-231).
