According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 6.9% (sa) in February, 2002. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan (21.2%), Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon (20.8%), and Haines (17.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Aleutians West (3%), Anchorage (5.8%), and Juneau (6%).
