According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.2% (sa) in June, 2002. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (21.4%), Kodiak Island (13.8%), and Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan (13.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Denali (3.3%), Bristol Bay (5.4%), and Juneau (5.5%).
