According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.5% (sa) in January, 2003. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Denali (21.3%), Haines (19.9%), and Kusilvak (18%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Juneau (6.2%), Anchorage (6.4%), and Sitka (7.2%).
