According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.8% (sa) in July, 2003. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (21.2%), Northwest Arctic (14%), and Bethel (12.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Bristol Bay (2.7%), Denali (2.8%), and Lake and Peninsula (4%).
