According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.6% (sa) in March, 2003. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Haines (18.9%), Yakutat (18.8%), and Denali (18.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Aleutians West (4.2%), Juneau (6.1%), and Anchorage (6.6%).
