According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.2% (sa) in December, 2004. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Aleutians East (20.5%), Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon (18.8%), and Kusilvak (17.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Anchorage (5.5%), Juneau (5.9%), and Fairbanks North Star (6.2%).
